The Super Sweet Blogging Award

Super Sweet Blogging AwardLast Christmas Eve, Fae of Fae’s Twist & Tango decided to play Santa and put something super sweet under our Christmas tree. 🙂 We want to thank Fae for passing on to us this lovely award. Fae is a very special lady of exotic origin who has been travelling the world since… forever! Her blog is much more than extraordinary recipes. She opens the door to new worlds taking her readers on a fascinating journey through amazing different cultures. You may want to check her blog out when you got a chance. I promise you won’t regret it! 🙂

The rules of the award are:

1 Visit and thank the blogger who nominated you.
2 Acknowledge that blogger on your blog and link back.
3 Answer the “Super Sweet” questions.
4 Nominate a “Baker’s Dozen” (12) blogs for the award, add a link to their blogs in your post, and notify them on their blogs.
5 Copy and paste the award on your blog somewhere.

The Super Sweet Questions are:

1. Cookies or Cake? Cookies

2. Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate

3. What is your favorite sweet treat? Hazelnut dark chocolate

4. When do you crave sweet things the most? In the morning

5. If you had a sweet nickname, what would it be? If someone would give me a sweet nickname, I would suggest that he or she sign up for therapy sessions! 😉

My nominees are (in no particular order):

1. Sweet Precision because Heather was born with the baking gene.
2. lovely buns because temptation must be rewarded.
3, 4, 5 & 6. Tortore, The Greedy Frog, Dans Ta Kitchenette and Ma Cuisine et Vous because everybody talks about Italians but when it comes to baking, let’s be honest, French do it better 😉
7. Bam’s Kitchen because of that unique exotic twist Bobbi always manages to put in.
8. piesandeyes because he believes that food should look good in addition to taste good.
9. Maria Dernikos because her baking skills are amazing.
10. at350degrees because of Carissa’s “bake-ology”.
11. The pancake princess and the protein prince because Erika makes me crave sweets even if I do not have a sweet tooth.
12. apuginthekitchen because of her extraordinary creativity.

Congratulations to all the nominees – you are all very well deserving!

  1. Oh Francesca, thank you so much for the lovely award. I will post on my blog, It means the world to me that fellow food lovers/bloggers care enough to bestow these wonderful awards. Thank you!

  2. I read your post and thought, mmm chocolate in the morning – I am a chocolate in the evening person! then read down and saw my name – I nearly fell off my chair. Thank you so much.

How kind of you to nominate me, Francesca! It really means alot to me, even if I am not as good at responding and nominating other fellow-bloggers (YET). I actually love cooking and eating Italian food alot on a very regular basis, but I must say I DO think the French are better bakers, even if many of the famous French recipes originated in Italy!

  4. Life is filled with tough choices! But up until now I hadn’t thought how hard it would be to decide between chocolate or vanilla – I think like you I would go for chocolate.

  5. Oh Francesca, thank you for the lovely nomination- it’s so kind! I must say that I agree with you 100% on cookies over cake and chocolate over vanilla 🙂 However I wish that I only craved sweet things in the morning, it’s an all day battle for me!! 😉

  6. I enjoy reading your blog – especially Stefano’s wine insights but can you explain me what the point of these “awards” is? They are like these chain letters that you had to mail to X other people in elementary school. None of these “awards” ever has a winner nor a jury or anything so what’s the point of them? It is possible to tell other that one likes their blog without the use of a non-existing award, or not?
I hope my question doesn’t offend you and if it did then I’m sorry but I really would like to understand why wordpress bloggers seem to like these “chain-letter-awards” so much.

    • Francesca says:

Of course, you didn’t offend me. Yours is absolutely a legitimate question.
I’m happy to share what I managed to figure out after 4 months of blogging. In my opinion, the reason of these awards is two-fold.
First, passing an award on to a fellow blogger is a way to tell him or her that you really like what he or she is doing. Sure, you can tell the same thing simply by leaving a nice comment on their blog but the award-giving gesture is such a stronger message.
Second (and this, in my opinion, is the more important reason), when you nominate other bloggers and you take some extra time to describe their blogs, there is a higher chance that your readers are going to check them out and, if they like what they see, they are going to start following those blogs. Passing those awards on is a way to spread the word about other blogs, a very effective way, let me say.

  7. Congratulations on your much deserved awards and thank you kindly for thinking of me and your kinds words. Take Care, BAM

  8. Candy says:

Hey, congrats and thanks for nominating me 🙂

  9. erika says:

Thanks so much Francesca–I really appreciate your thinking of me!! How ironic, as I will not be eating sweets for the next three weeks. I will have to live vicariously through your delicious posts! Thanks again 🙂

  10. Congrats and thank you so much for nominating Dans Ta Kitchenette!! 🙂

  11. Congratulations, Fransesca et al! Well deserved. Thank you for the kind mention. 😀 Fae.

  12. ciao! luvFAB blog.
